As you've seen from my last two posts here and here, I've been making some eyeshadows and promising to share the recipes. Keeping my promise here!
So, I recently received sample sizes of TKB Trading's Matte Blue Pop, Matte Red Pop & Shimmer Lemon Pop. They're basically TKB's ready to wear loose eyeshadows. Since I recently purchased TKB's Planetary Sampler, I thought it would be fun to make some colour-shifting duochromes using Method #2 in my guide to making eyeshadows –just mixing a bunch of colours together.
These are the results:
I don't mind sharing the recipes for these because I really hope you guys have as much fun as I did, but if you do decide to try these recipes out, please credit me and let me know! I'd love to see your results!

Anyway, here are the detailed swatches and recipes. I decided to name these eyeshadows based on Terry Pratchett quotes because I really want to share with everyone how awesome this guy is. The world really lost a brilliant mind.

To create these colours, you'll need:
- The colours from the recipes
- Matte Blue Pop
- Matte Red Pop
- Shimmer Lemon Pop
- Travel to Earth
- Travel to Jupiter
- Travel to Mars
- Travel to Neptune
- Travel to Pluto
- Travel to Venus
These are all available at TKB trading. Personally for me, a sample size is more than enough (6g for the Pop eyeshadows, 2.5g for the planetary micas). To help you figure out what those numbers mean, a typical MAC eyeshadow contains 1.5g of eyeshadow.
- A spoon for each colour you want to make. It'll make your life easier if you have a spoon for each colour instead of needing to constantly clean up. Make sure they're of identical size so you can measure accurately. If you're looking for small spoons, I usually steal those plastic coffee stirrers from coffee shops
- Alcohol for disinfecting. Someone once asked if sanitizing wipes are ok...I haven't tried it yet, but I'd avoid it because some of them have fragrance and you may discover your eyes are sensitive to that. Keep it simple, stick to alcohol.
- Ziplock bags
- Eyeshadow jars to put your final work in (optional)

These are the really simple steps to do this:
1. Disinfect everything. You don't want eye infections from a dirty work place. Disinfect your spoons, your jars, the table you're working on. Everything.
2. Measure out the colours as mentioned in each recipe and put them inside a ziplock bag.
3. Close the bag and squish them together until they're well blended.
4. You're done! You can use them out of the bag or pour them into eyeshadow jars, it's your call.

Wasted Chances
“Ginger: You know what the greatest tragedy is in the whole world?... It's all the people who never find out what it is they really want to do or what it is they're really good at. It's all the sons who become blacksmiths because their fathers were blacksmiths. It's all the people who could be really fantastic flute players who grow old and die without ever seeing a musical instrument, so they become bad plowmen instead. It's all the people with talents who never even find out. Maybe they are never even born in a time when it's even possible to find out. It's all the people who never get to know what it is that they can really be. It's all the wasted chances.”
